We started hearing about the English Summer Camp in early summer. Ironically, it was at the end of the summer they released their first ep, entitled Young .
Six tracks laid by the impish voice of Elizabeth Sankey, except the first track, Round The Moon, a real breath of fresh air romantic pop, where is Jeremy Warmsley which hangs behind the microphone. Jeremy Warmsley, this name is not completely unknown before he officiated solo across the Channel and was signed to Transgressive Records (and came to France to make Take Away in churches). Then he decided to hire his girlfriend Elizabeth journalist and start a band.
A little less than a year later, the sound of Summer Camp is not yet fully told, sometimes halfway between Joy Division and The Cure (Round The Moon ), and at other times closer to the English pop lighter optimistic 1980s ( Veronica Sawyer , Ghost Train.) The sound is intentionally cheap, very focused on the effects of echo, and this is what contributes to the charm Music Summer Camp. An approximation touching teenager found elsewhere in the clips of the group.
Note also the apparent passion for film has developed the group as Jake Ryan the name of a character in Sixteen Candles John Hughes released in 1984, and Veronica Sawyer is none other than the main character (played by Winona Ryder) Film Heathers, Michael Lehmann, released in 1989. Furthermore, the clip Round The Moon consists of scenes from the film A Swedish cult Swedish Love Story Roy Andersson (1970), and the Ghost Train of , scenes of Last Summer Frank Perry released in 1969.
