TRANSMUSICALES 2010: SELECTION STAGE INVASION (PART 4)

It's official, the week of TransMusicales has indeed begun. What does one recognize the start of the marathon? Posters of the festival are ubiquitous in Rennes, many of your facebook contacts are volunteers this year for the festival are posting photos of the scenery begins to take shape, and your college buddies ask you a bit anxious if "is not Full Friday to see MIA? " .
It is high time to make a zoom on the last lineup of the 32nd edition, and once will not hurt, this time not five but only four groups. The reason for this regression ? Lack of time, partially because of our having the good idea to run for the festival, which means that Stage Invasion will be on all fronts: in a lecture hall before examination paper, and just after the village Releases Festival, camera in hand, to bring you interviews, photos, videos and live reports from the concerts and backstage Trans. We believe!

LARS AND THE HANDS OF LIGHT
Dec. 9 / / Exhibition Grounds / / Hall 3 / / 9:00 p.m.

Man behind combo Lars & The Hands Of Light, I appointed Lars Vognsturp, is a musician with an unusual background. He has in the past, had the funny idea to rap music of The Smiths (!), Spent ten years in a metal band, eventually turning to electro pop. After all these adventures, he seems more settled in Lars And The Hands Of Light, the group balance between indie and pop, which is reminiscent of Blur few pieces from time to time. Vognsturp Lars, the Danish Damon Albarn?
Strangely, the clips are at the antipodes of music, that is to say, very worn on sadism, blood, severed heads, and the seams of raw skin, short, Lars & The Hands Of Light had a little force on episodes of Dexter, which, after all, simply add them more sympathy.

THE PACK AD
Dec. 9 / / Exhibition Grounds / / Hall 4 / / 8:30 p.m.

The first thing that comes to mind when you hear for the first time the two girls PowerCord The Pack AD is something like "we found the Little Sisters of the White Stripes . A good old garage rock sound with blues and even punk, not a hint of electronic music and a good dose of energy, this is the formula Pack AD ("AD" for After Death). Note that the day after their performance at the Exhibition Grounds, the two girls will play in the men's prison in Rennes.
professors of sociology media will be happy to see that The Pack AD reverses gender stereotypes commonly found in music videos: here are the guys dancing around in underwear girls who go down beers waving dollars.

Gaslamp Killer
December 11 / / Exhibition Grounds / / Hall 9 / / 11:45 p.m.

The Gaslamp Killer is a dj that emerges somewhat from the electronic side of the programming of these TransMusicales 32nd, insofar as the music of American hip hop influences sweat, when others are frankly much more focused techno. Surprising when one considers that the dj is signed on Brainfeeder, label Flying Lotus, also produces Gonjasufi who also plays this Saturday at the Trans, in a hall differ, however. A small outbreak of Gaslamp Killer for the set of her boyfriend and Gonjasufi full circle? Surprise.

ALEX METRIC
December 10 / / Exhibition Grounds / / Hall 4 / / 3:00

Alex Metric is a young British DJ also resident DJ, not a club as it is usually common to see, but in a BBC radio show entitled "In New DJs We Trust". In business for just two short years, Alex Metric is particular to borrow as much, if not more to the synth pop of the 1980s than the purely electro nineties in his compositions. In addition to risk making us dance frantically until 4 am the night of Friday to Saturday, Alex's friend also happens to be gifted remixes level, evidenced by its recent efforts on Pen Gorillaz, Lisztomania Phoenix or Paris Is Burning Ladyhawke .
